A little preparation keeps small problems small. Hereβs everything health- and safety-related for the Rise & Vibe Cruise.
π₯ Medical Care Onboard
- Wonder of the Seas has a full medical center staffed by doctors and nurses, with 24/7 emergency care.
- β οΈ Onboard medical care is very expensive. Visits and treatment are charged to your SeaPass account, and most U.S. health insurance does not cover medical care at sea β this is one of the biggest reasons to take the travel insurance offered when you register.
- π We strongly recommend bringing any over-the-counter medications you might need for common illnesses β pain reliever, cold and flu medicine, antacids, anti-diarrheal, allergy medicine, motion-sickness tablets, and bandages. Onboard shops carry a very limited selection at high prices.
π€ If You Get Sick Before the Cruise
- Contact support@frequense.com as soon as possible β and if you took the travel insurance, this is exactly what itβs for.
- Answer the health questionnaire honestly when it appears in the Royal Caribbean app (~24 hours before boarding).
π Medications & Medical Needs
- Bring more prescription medication than the trip needs (a few extra daysβ buffer), in original containers, packed in your carry-on β never checked luggage.
- CPAP machines, mobility equipment, accessible staterooms, and other medical needs: coordinate with Royal Caribbeanβs Access Department β special_needs@rccl.com or (866) 592-7225, ideally 30+ days before sailing.
- Food allergies and special diets: note them at registration, email special_needs@rccl.com at least 45 days out, and tell your head waiter on night one.
π« Who Canβt Sail
- Guests who will be entering their 24th week of pregnancy at any point during the cruise cannot sail (there is no OB care onboard).
- Infants must be at least 6 months old on sailing day.
π Staying Well Onboard
- Seasickness: Wonder is one of the largest, most stable ships at sea, but if youβre prone to motion sickness bring Dramamine/Bonine or sea bands β Guest Services also has remedies.
- Germs: wash hands before meals and use the sanitizer stations (especially entering the Windjammer) β itβs the best defense against shipboard bugs.
- Sun & heat: the November Bahamas sun is still strong β sunscreen, hats, and lots of water, especially at the beach and CocoCay.
- Pools: lifeguards are on duty at the main pools, but parents should always supervise children.
π¦Ί Safety Basics
- Muster drill (required): itβs done through the Royal Caribbean app now β watch the short safety video in the app, then stop by your assigned muster station (shown in the app and on your SeaPass card) for a quick check-in before sailaway. No more standing in crowds with life jackets.
- Keep the balcony door locked when kids are in the cabin, and never sit or climb on railings.
- In Nassau: stay in the main tourist areas, use licensed taxis or ship excursions, book water sports only through Royal Caribbean, never swim alone, and be back onboard at least 60 minutes before departure.
π Emergencies
- Onboard: dial the emergency number posted in your stateroom or go to Guest Services (open 24/7).
- Leave your family at home a copy of your itinerary and cabin number. In an emergency they can reach you through Royal Caribbeanβs main line at (866) 562-7625, or via the app/email if you have a Wi-Fi package.
